First guy got it and ran out the clock with me. 0-0. Very promising.

Second guy didn't but i managed to tie anyway. Felt good!

Third guy didn't and kept giving me the stink-shirt. Idiot.

I'm going back to grinding season unless someone has communication tips for me! lol...

I’ve tried using the Messaging system to communicate my strategy but most people are idiots that just want to win. I’ve found tricking people into thinking I’m trying to win works best. I try to match them shot for shot and have the ball at the end with it tied or me having the chance to tie. I’m averaging 5 brackets per tourney this way. Best was 7 with 3 ties.

Maybe we should develop a code for forum members? Cough shirt at start means I can take a loss, Thanks is a win and both players sending Hoodies is an agreed upon tie?! Haha

Actually there are 6 regions with two 99s each for twelve total. But....

You're able to collect 2 of each Master in the promo. So for the Heartbreaker Region, you can get a total of Four 99s. That's how it's possible to get KD with only 99s

Thanks for the explanation. Seems like a tough grind f2p with brackets being hard to come by. Don’t think I will be able to get there, especially since I’ve wasted a bunch of them on the heartbreaker section before figuring this promo out.

I bought both 99 Lillard and later 100 Curry just days before this promo started, both of whom now feel like wasted coins with these new cards. I really like that VanVleet card, maybe because I like the player and his 105 card was one of my favorites last season. But with Curry (and Lillard on the bench) it’s not worth it to get him, and I don’t like the idea of selling those cards at a loss after less than a week.

101 Melo looks like a good card to grind for, but SS SF has been the most oversaturated position in the game the last few promos. I already have 100 Carter, 98 Pierce and 98 McGrady for that spot. And that is after selling 100 Harris and 99 Tatum today! Seems foolish to make that the master to grind, but it’s the card that looks the best to me.

The other one that looks really good is Rip Hamilton, but it’s the same story: I’ve already chosen Sackman as my Influencer master (have him at 98, halfway to 99), pulled 98 Herro, have 97 Redick and Trae Young is the only superstar player I’ve put actual effort in this season (have him at 95 with 15k shards left). So getting a master at that position doesn’t seem like the way to go either.

Aside from those two, the other masters don’t interest me much. On paper, I prefer All Star Lebron and Dirk over Webber and Zion. JA looks good, but I don’t have any Heartbreaker players so that’ll be the toughest one to grind out.

What’s do you guys recommend as the way to approach this promo for me? Should I just collect the 99’s and hope they become auctionable after the promo ends, or just grind for the card I like the most,regardless of how oversaturated that position is?

On another note: that Pistol Pete card is one of my new favorite cards this season! I bought Booker in the AH and I’m glad I resold him before this promo started, because the Maravich card performs way better for me. And for a lower price.

In order to play the regions campaign you'll need certain cards and since I sold/put into sets the past promos I would need to use the 20 brackets pack and hope to obtain the requirements in order to play the region campaign, although I dont really care... it would be nice to get whatever I get and to sell them in the AH? 30 is just all campus heroes, but in order to get higher/better stuff you will need a bit of everything, so start buying the 20 pack or continue to buy 30 and auction whatever I get?

H Hroswith Are you grinding Ewing for MM? If not, Robinson looks appealing.

2 OVR pts doesn’t seem like a lot this side of 101/102 but with the +2 team boost, some of these Masters could stay in your lineup to 104/105. Picking Masters is a lot like the NFL draft. Some teams draft for the position they need most and others for the best available player. Figure out which type of team you are and go from there.

It doesn’t fit your SS lineup, but I think the 100 D’lo is the best card in the game. Or at least the best all around pg, including 101 Magic and 100 Curry.

If you have some other high OVR cards so that you can hit the OVR requirements for the events.... you can get cheap cards from old promos on the AH. I bought 94 Trending Vince for 100k coins. 90 GT Melo for 90k coins. Just getting 3 cards will allow you pretty easy grinding for a Regional 101

Dude, after I read this I started paying attention to the opponent and I've run into 3 diff guys that worked with me. This one guy Emilio and I played 7 or 8 straight ties bc we kept getting immediately rematched. Was awesome. He was starting out with Good Luck and the smiling Luka. Then he'd just back way up and commit a backcourt violation to so that I could tell what he was doing

All my league members are doing hoodie luka when game in arena starts because they go for a draw...4 brackets for free its something that just cant be ignored...personally had 10 matchups today when this happened to me playing non league members so i guess people started to do this so we can all benefit...

Avoid making a tie with opponent. Lost about 24 brackets before realizing it.

Seems there is a bug if you end in a tie. Try to avoid ties even if it means a loss because you get the brackets back. I played the 48 event for Melo yesterday and thanks to a heads up from A Anatdoc I didn’t waste any brackets but it probably took me 50 tries (out of the 38 required) to get him. Fing AI on steroids doesn’t help either.

But Ewing is a Monthly Master so rather than splitting your tokens between him and Hakeem (whom you’ve already upgraded presumably?), my point was to go for Robinson instead. Even more of a no-brainer knowing you already started with Hakeem in MM and Live 95 is the easiest bracket for 4 players and 97 OVR. 300 brackets required for Robinson.

Is that why some players keep saying thanks to start the game? I just read this now.

can't take loss. I tend to get kicked out for some reason and count as forfeit. So that's my loss

Tie is a good idea tho. But that requires the other player to cooperate.
