I’m at 103OVR currently, and can’t seem to get it higher than that, even if I add multiple 102-103 players to a starting lineup that includes a 105PG and 104SG (up to 106 and 105 now).
This is my current lineup.
I really don’t want to give up 101 Klay as a PF or Butler at center. I’ve tried higher ranked players at that position, but keep coming back to these two. Klay has excellent shot blocking and offensive rebounds, while being a lock for open threes. Plus, he’s fantastic at catching interceptions.
And while butler isn’t worth a whole lot as a defensive center, it’s incredibly easy to find open catch and shoot threes with him.
I’ve read that a higher OVR rating has more impact on shooting consistency than boosts. I’ve boosted my entire team almost exclusively focused on small ball and shooting threes.
Is there any way I can get a higher OVR and still have a center and PF that shoot threes as well as these two? Perhaps another out of position player? Could 103KG or 102 Harrell do the trick? I know 106 Durant and 105 Bird will, but both of them are too expensive.
Or is there another way to boost my OVR? I’m looking at 104 Otto Porter Jr. as a replacement starter SF for Butler. He gives the same +2 3pt boost to the entire team as Beef Jerky Joe, while having a higher rating and better shooting stats than Butler, who then goes to the bench.
Would he get me to 104, or do I need to make other changes as well?
Same questions apply to another team, where I have Giannis as a 101PG. He’s not as consistent at shooting threes as 105 Westbrook, who’s a beast for me in AI, but I really enjoy playing with him in manual. He’s so much taller than most PG’s that it’s really hard to miss a shot and really easy to block them. Plus, he’s crazy fun for both giving and receiving ally-oops. One of my best buys at 145k coins!
Also, I have quite a few 102 and 103 players that I can’t seem to get rid of at auction, even way below the usual prices. Any tips for that?
