Season 3 Auction House observations

I have a suspicion that they've eliminated sniping by setting limits AND minimum prices on stuff. There are currently no elites under 200k, despite very few being bought. I've yet to see one listed under 200k, even tried to sell one at 135k, never saw it, didn't sell. Gold players 70-74 are not showing up when listed over 5k, probably an attempt to end that glitch from Season 2. I fear with EA now selling coins, the F2P players are completely screwed.

it is less than 24hrs from launch..
we are lucky the tax is only 10%
only vets are in the AH, newbs are still making it in (potentially)
its early, shit will sort itself out
chillax ;)

Also, ppl (not me) are sniping golds for around 5k. I see some listed with SP and BN of around 25k, but not sure if any of those sell...

Agree with OP ... This is a form of extreme dictatorship by EA. Let's say I have a million in coin, and I feel like selling an elite for 100k. Because of caps applied by EA , I can't even if I want to !

First I posted 80 Butler for 199k/210k and he didn't sell, tried again for 188k/199k and it was sold after 1h.

They're most definitely setting hidden minimum and maximum prices. I just started keeping a list for personal use to figure out the max price I can sell cards at, but I figured I'd share it here. So far, I've only checked the auction house three random times to make this list, but I'm gonna keep updating it whenever I get a chance.

The first number is the minimum bid price I've seen, the second number is the max BN price I've seen.

70: 3300 - 4400
71: 3500 - 4700
72: 3800 - 5000
73: 4000 - 5300
74: 4200 - 5600
75: 21,000 - 28,000
76: 23,000 - 31,000
77: 26,000 - 34,000
78: 28,000 - 37,000
79: 33,000 - 34,000 (assuming this goes up to at least 37-40k)
80: 201,000 - 315,000

I tossed a bunch of 70-74's on the AH earlier at 4500 bid, 5000 BN. Every one of the 72-74's sold, but none of the 70 or 71's sold. So this list seems to be somewhat accurate.

Happy to help guys. After a few more AH checks, I updated the prices.

There's definitely a pattern in the Buy Now prices. 70-74's increase by 300 each time, and 75-79's increase by 3000 each time. I can't confirm this for 79's because there's rarely any being sold when I check, but I'm sure the pattern continues, so the max price for a 79 ovr is probably 40k.

I?ve been trying to sell a 77 PJ Tucker for two days now. I?m down to 17k bid and 22k bin and still nothing. I?m guessing in addition to the caps, if there?s no activity on a specific card then the bot won?t buy. If they want to keep this Communist AH then at least publish min prices that guarantee a sale since it?s impossible to create bidding wars with lower listings.

Edit: So I listed him for 16-23k and he insta-sold...go figure.

Edit 2: and then on my first Get Loose set this happens!

all 76+ golds that are not centers are selling and quick

I guess the issue with your Tucker was dropping too low. 77s are usually fine for 28k .

Yeah, I guess when he didn?t sell the first time with 22-28k, I gave up too quick.

I was going along your lines, but was still at the "70-74 + 75-79" part. Well done and thanks for sharing ;)

Two questions, if you don't mind:

1) Following down that path, do you think there may be individual caps for each card?

2) Do you think maybe this bot is the same we had late last season, but with caps adjusted to some "early season mode"?

1) I don't think so, but the difference between min and max prices is so low (until you get to elites) that I haven't paid as much attention to differences between specific cards.

2) I'm still not sure about the bot. I've got a 75 Lopez I've been trying to sell for days at the lowest price with no buyers, but on the other hand I've been selling silver coaches for 10k minimum even with the same cards being on the AH for half the price. Coaches seem like the only way to really test the bot since they have such a wide price range.

I reported a similar issue with a 77 OVR card. I kept ratcheting down the price and it wouldn't sell. Then I thought maybe the issue is even though you think your card is being listed at the lower price, it just sits in "purgatory" for whatever duration you set and finishes unsold. So I raised the price again and it insta-sold for the low range of the card (based on what you posted).

Only way I think is to just keep listing them higher, there are hardly any ever available.. they going to have to do something......ea is so stupid I swear. Like a 79 is really valuable right now.....they don?t even know how to set up their own game.....what?s new. Nothing. They still clueless

I understand they are out there to make money but damn get it together you got tot throw someway to work hard and make some coin.....I probably spent a couple hundred dollars last year, and won coins etc....couple hundred dollars is not really a lot to spend for a season......but if I can?t improve hustling without spending money, what will be the point of me spending a single dime this year, you can spend a 1.99 or a .99, or even a 4.99 here and there if you are progressing your team......but that isn?t going to help anything for me if I don?t have other ways to make it add up..
