109 Giannis or 110 Magic?

Magic; he has BB which although can be inconsistent, very rarely gets blocked as opposed to clutch. His AI is tough to deal with, not that Giannis doesn’t have tough AI, but Magic makes pretty much everything he puts up. Having a PG with BB also forces the opponent to take the last shot and sets your AI up for 3 free points if they don’t force last shot. I’ve also heard his gameplay is stellar.

I'd go with Giannis since you have way more opportunity to use his ability but you put the thread in the wrong section and you put absolutely no context into your title I'll fix those now but in the future please let people know what your thread will be about and put it in the correct spot

Magic because he has a higher ovr and will have the advantage (green shield) over Giannis in gameplay. Plus as good as Giannis is he dribbles the ball for far too long giving the opponent more opportunities for steals.

Both are solid..
Early impression is magic is the better shooter and giannis the better stealer and defender..
Buzzer better than clutch (have only missed the buzzer twice .. So i find it consistent)

The shield color has nothing to do with overall

You're lucky then because as a whole clutch is far more reliable than BB even in a good shot range

If ur thinking PvP then Giannis is ur guy...kinda noticed his clutch powerup faster than steph's and bird's and any other guys..if ur thinking showdown BB Magic is gonna break a lot hearts (including urs if it missed..lol)

This is interesting as two people here talking about how AI of each players perform differently. Is there any thread that discuss this? I am a new player and yess... sometimes I found opponents with a low ovr player that perform really well such as 98 Garnett. Which for me who got 104-105 players, it's a surprise to see how active 98 Garnett in taking offRebound.

It actually has everything to do with overall. We discussed this in a thread a while back, Brian confirmed it on discord, and my league did a bunch of experiments to confirm it. You get a green shield over your player when EITHER you have a higher base ovr player OR if you have the same ovr player and have a higher team ovr average. So a 110 will always have a green shield over a 109 unless the 109 is boosted to the same ovr as the 110 AND is on a team with a higher ovr average than the 110. It has everything to do with overall. But I'm curious if not overall what then influences shield type according to you?

I found Giannis to ber very good in lvl. He feels much more responsive on D than Magic and his offense was up to the task (hit every open 3). For anyone still completing the 110 Master set (i.e. Magic, Harden or Shaq), I'd personally go for Harden or Shaq over Magic if I had it to do over. Shaq is questionable but since he would make me 111 there's incentive. More options at PG than C right now is also a factor but could change. Anyone with Harden that's not using him for AI is crazy. That card lights it up EVERY time I play against it.

After playing vs Giannis in SD I have no doubts I would get him over Magic any day.. he has the same charge time as 105 POTG Kawhi/Curry and is active with the ball, it's not easy to steal from him.

i guess.. i have missed maybe 4 max 5 buzzers this season.. and those were usually off balance and contested...
I had 101 Lillard over month when he was top PG and he missed over 30% shots from BB... 101 Booker started his career in my team with 'record' that will be never beaten (0/4 with 0% from BB)...102 Lillard was a bit better for me than 101 and 108 Sexton had great start but then started missing like Lillard.. I hate BB in S3.
The only card with BB that didn't disappoint me was 106 PF Giannis (he scored almost 20 with 100% before he missed his first).

Shields color has to do with OBD it was stated as such in the tutorial we all had to take when this season started I've used poor defending PGs with higher overall than other PGs and they still had a yellow shield to help confirm that so no it's not overall it's your ability to defend vs their offense just use UA Curry vs a live event PG with a 20+ overall difference in the players and team

I've been through the tutorial and help multiple times in regards to this topic and it doesn't say anything about OBD, this is the only section that talks about the shield...

And Brian explained it all on discord a while back when my league were trying to figure out advantages and disadvantages. From his explanation "your ability to defend vs their offense" does not influence the shield type but rather it is ovr that influences shield type which then influences your ability to defend vs their offense. Thats what the pic above suggests. Its not your ability to defend that influences the shield. It's the shield which influences your ability to defend. We asked Brian what then influences the shield and he said ovr. Not only did Brian confirm it, it took my league a week of experimenting with different PGs and ovr diffrences to also confirm it. Live events are a little different. They boost stats only but don't change the ovr of the players (an 80 stays an 80) which is not the case with other modes. If you boost a player by +20s in LvsL or SD that will consequently increase the players base ovr which in turn will influence the shield. So yes stats does influence the shield like you've suggested BUT only if it increases the ovr of the player. You can boost the crap out of a 107 boosted to a 109 but vs a 110 with no boosts and bad stats, the 110 will always have the green shield over the heavily boosted 107 to 109.

Not the written tutorial the tutorial events it said that defense was responsible for the shield and I used live events as an example for the many modes I've experienced it otherwise and yes I know they don't influence overall much (you can see players even in events with changes to overall) but my shield never changed from green to yellow or red against higher overall PGs and teams in LvL and SD as well unless I used a poor defender against a great shooter like the example of Curry given earlier

Interesting. @TomH seemed very fond of GT Zion’s AI. I’m 111 now so I’ll experiment with Harden v. Zion for AI. My lineup put up 19 on only -5 for the 111 debut.

yeah, my comment was more for people that only have Harden. I didn't keep cartoon Zion long enough to test his AI.

I don't know what it is in this game but 6' 7" playersin particular seem awfully small relatively speaking.

I’m enjoying his gameplay more than Harden at the moment but the double clutch is too much to pass up on. As far as height goes there’s practically no difference between Harden and Zion, but Zion feels way taller for me.
